Over the weekend we visited friends on a date farm in the desert. On the way we encountered this interesting tree decorated with cooking pots.
The entrance to the farm was line with date palms.... a welcome sight after miles of desert shrubs.

We all had a wonderful time...including Lily...isn't she just as pretty as all the other flowers?

So, did you eat dates while you were there?
Yes and no. We ate dates but they were unlike any date I have had before. Fresh dates are soft any yummy. Very tasty. They were harvested in September. The people at the date farm are vegetarians ...they eat a very simple but surprisingly satisfying diet. My favorite was the fresh orange/pomegranate juice.
