Cloudy days make for interesting views of the mountain....I headed out first thing in the morning and got one shot off before my batteries went back to bed. By the time I was able to get back out the door with fresh batteries the color was gone but the contrast of light behind the dark mountain was still worthy of a shot.
Mid-day I went out again to capture the shadows the clouds were creating on the mountain.

Mid-afternoon the clouds had disappeared when I realized I had never photographed the mountain in black and white...out we went again (me, the camera, and my faithful assistant, Lily)

I was just a minute or two late to catch the most pink hue when the sun was setting. The color comes and goes quickly.
