dancing through mexico: the light parade

Our first morning in Mexico...we gathered for prayer and a "unity huddle" before heading out for breakfast....

where we met up with the Mexican half of our team...

A quick stop at the dentist before we left Rocky Point provided an opportunity to pray for a young man who was selling candy on the street.

After driving to Caborca we found our hotel, unloaded our suitcases and started getting the truck ready for the light parade that evening.

The cover needed to be removed...and ended up being Rece's roommate. It was a good roommate and didn't cause any problems.

Everyone pitched in including the folks who worked at the hotel (see the woman in yellow)...providing us with tools and materials we needed.

Jay did an excellent job planning what we would need to put our "float" together but the task also called for some improvising...

While the men attached the fire huppah....

Maria and Maria worked attaching reflective streamers to the pillar of fire...

Once it was time for the parade we all piled on and made our way to get in line...

The mood was festive...

The candy was plentiful.....

The altar and pillar of fire looked great....

And the crowd had a wonderful time...
