dancing through mexico: parade number two

Tuesday morning we got ready for the parade with all the dignitaries present including the mayor and the governor . Our leaders Ron and Lura pose with the mayor's assistant.

Prayer before we head to our designated line up position.

We waited for quite some time after we got in position for the parade to begin.

The two floats ahead of us featured the Tohono O'odham tribe. The Tohono O'odham live in both Mexico and Arizona. We had recorded the story of creation in the Tohono O'odham language and were able to give CD's with those who spoke the language.

The drum and bugle corp that waited in line behind us.

The drum and bugle corp on break.

The sun was warm, the parade route full.

We stopped in front of the grandstands and Ron danced for the dignitaries.

My view of the parade from the inside of the pick up. Sometimes I could see our team behind me in the mirror. Jay is in white, blowing the shofar.

There were lots of bands and a good number of horses in the parade.

Ron poses with boys from the ROTC at the end of the parade.
